Busy but here's a fishy.

Today at church Enos and I taught our sunbeams, "i am thankful for fish." Here's the fish i made especially for this lesson. The children got to make cutouts and go fishing... the funnest lesson by far to teach.

This is a picture i did for Stephanie and Eric Toland. She wanted something really stylized and i really think i captured them :) This is the best kind of drawing for me to do.. It's a blast!

Linguini anyone?

So... here's my tribute to Ratatouille. It's my favorite Pixar movie and so i'm paying homage to a character who i LOVE, Linguini. A lot of people found him annoying (enos) but i found his charm to be like that of the crushes I had in middle school on weird nerdy boys... which seems fitting since this drawing started as a doodle while talking on the phone like that of a 13 year old girl. I guess you could say he's my cartoon crush.
ps... if you STILL haven't seen this movie... wow. you're lame.

Update of the children

Here's the new version i did. the older girl was a bit off but i couldn't tell until the client gave me some more pictures... Sometimes it takes a couple of goes to make it right. :) I think she turned out a lot better. I also added a couple of extras to give it a more finished feel.

Portrait of Children

A client of mine had me make this for her friend who tragically lost her children in a car wreck after getting hit by a semi. This story really touched my heart and i couldn't turn down doing a portrait even though i'd never done one in color before. This is such a sad story. But thankfully the woman has been blessed with triplets and is due in a few months i believe. I'm glad i could do this for her.

Harold the monster.

Forgotten plane sketches..

I did these at the airport while we were in Colorado waiting to go to VA. i had forgotten to post them.. Also i had just gotten done watching one of my favorite movies Meet the Robinsons... that redhead kid is inspired by Goob.

Brian helps Kitty with his big day.

I almost like the black and white one better.. it feels like a fifties educational cartoon.

One last glance before competition...

I was just thinking about body builders... women body builders in particular... Every time i see them on tv i can't help but watch with my mouth ajar at the sheer manliness of their bodies... it's like watching a car wreck happen... you have to watch. They really freak me out. It's like someone took a ken doll and put barbies head on... okay maybe not barbie.. she's too pretty... let's say skipper...or maybe a brat's doll head.

Crazy monsters

I know i know... let me guess..."you're bored"

These are some sketches i did on the plane and at the airport when i wasn't narcoleptic-ly tired. One of them is something i drew at church last sunday... can you guess which one? HA.

Trying new things...

This is a picture i've created from two photos i found in the anthropology catalog that i LOVED.. i'm trying something new with my art. Just trying to expand my boundaries.
