i drew this mermaid tonight...spent a lot of time on it, chose colors, fixed anatomy..... and stilll ended up HATING IT. so this is my post instead. *ugh*

Sorry about the quality.. i was too lazy to use my scanner for these so i just took a picture...

My first REAL attempt at painting for real.

Okay... so i know what you're thinkin'... whatever lindsay! you've painted before! i've seen it!.... yeah... but what you DIDN'T know is that i didn't try very hard and would get frustrated with ALL of my previous paintings and then just give up and hang it up anyway because it passed the Enos test. This, however, is no longer a good enough test for me... it needs to pass MY inspection.. i need to feel proud of SOME sort of art that i've physically done and isn't just a bunch of zeros and ones on the computer.... so here it is.... it DID cause me a lot of stress because i kept wanting to give up... but i'm glad i didn't... and i'm fairly happy with the result considering it was my first.

so.. here are the invitations i've created for lucas' baby shower.... they are simple but i didn't want to stress out about them... if i love you, then you may be getting one in the mail in coming months if you are a texan... :) if not to THIS shower... then the one at the beginning of the year in utah. (and yes, the theme is monsters and ugly dolls)

I think this picture explains how we feel about Lucas... a little weary of if we'll be good parents... and i suspect he feels the same way... i guess we'll just have to get through it together. *sigh*.... three more months to go.
